A West Penn Township man died over the weekend from injuries sustained in an ATV crash at his family’s farm on Eagles View Drive.

Deputy Coroner Andrew Szczyglak pronounced Gary L. Nothstein Jr., 37, dead about 1 a.m. Sunday, Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David J. Moylan III said Tuesday.

A virtual autopsy was conducted Sunday at the Simon Kramer Cancer, New Philadelphia.

Nothstein was a 2001 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, and also held a master’s degree from Montclair State University in New Jersey, according to his obituary. He is survived by his wife and son.

It was the second fatal ATV crash in the area this weekend. On Saturday, 27-year-old Eric Bachert of Tamaqua died in a separate incident in Nesquehoning.

According to Nothstein’s obituary, an educational fund will be set up for his son. Donations can be made payable to Kelly Nothstein, 24 Eagles View Drive, New Ringgold, PA, 17960.
