Sunday COVID update: 654 new cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight, that there are 654 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 113,590. All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19.

Allegheny County is reporting an increase of 82 cases and Philadelphia County is reporting an increase of 75 cases.

The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between July 26 and Aug. 1 is 154,617 with 6,165 positive cases. There were 18,824 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Aug. 1. These results represent the total number of tests administered.

There are 7,209 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 5 new deaths reported.

Approximately 8,311 our total cases are in health care workers.

Locally, Carbon County has four new cases for a total of 360 cases and 28 deaths.

In Lehigh County, there are 21 new cases for a total of 4,849, and one additional death of 334 deaths.

Luzerne County is reporting 3,324 cases, an increase of 48. Deaths remain at 183.

In Monroe there are four new cases, bringing the total to 1,591. Deaths remain at 123.

In Northampton County, 17 new cases bring the total to 3,860. Deaths remain at 290.

In Schuylkill County, there are seven new cases. The total is 892, with 49 deaths.
