Pa. virus update: 860 new cases bring statewide total to 111,078

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight that there are 860 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 111,078.

Allegheny County is reporting an increase of 132 cases and Philadelphia County is reporting an increase of 127 cases.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 19,366 resident cases of COVID-19, and 3,918 cases among employees, for a total of 23,284 at 846 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 4,887 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. Approximately 8,165 our total cases are in health care workers.

Carbon County is stable, with 356 cases and 28 deaths.

In Lehigh County, there are 20 new cases for a total of 4,795. Deaths remain at 335.

Luzerne County is reporting 3,239 cases, an increase of 14. Deaths remain at 183.

In Monroe there are three new cases, bringing the total to 1,573. Deaths remain at 123.

In Northampton County, 10 new cases bring the total to 3,816. Deaths remain at 289.

In Schuylkill County, there are eight new cases. The total is 875, with 49 deaths.
