Monday update: Pa reaches 108,264 virus cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight that there are 839 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 108,264. All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19.

Allegheny County is reporting an increase of 180 cases and Philadelphia County is reporting an increase of 166 cases.

There are 7,122 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 4 new deaths reported. In nursing and personal care homes, there are 19,157 resident cases of COVID-19, and 3,837 cases among employees, for a total of 22,994 at 831 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 4,851 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

Approximately 7,974 our total cases are in health care workers.

In Carbon County, cases remained level at 352. Deaths remain at 28.

In Lehigh County, there are 21 new cases for a total of 4,688. Deaths remain at 335.

Luzerne County is reporting 3,156 cases, an increase of 12. Deaths remain at 183.

In Monroe there are four new cases, bringing the total to 1,557. An additional death has been reported for a total of 122.

In Northampton County, 14 new cases bring the total to 3,758. Deaths remain at 289.

In Schuylkill County, there are four new cases. The total is 849, with 49 deaths.
