Saturday update: 1,054 positives bring statewide total to 106,625

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight, that there are 1,054 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 106,625.

All of our counties have increased cases, including Lehigh with an increase of 43.

Allegheny County is reporting an increase of 146 cases, Delaware County is reporting an increase of 110 cases and Philadelphia County is reporting an increase of 177 cases.

The number of tests administered within the last seven days between July 18 and July 24 is 157,974 with 6,384 positive cases. There were 24,891 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., July 24. These results represent the total number of tests administered.

There are 7,114 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 13 new deaths reported.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 19,066 resident cases of COVID-19, and 3,785 cases among employees, for a total of 22,851 at 826 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 4,850 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. A county breakdown can be found here.

Approximately 7,902 our total cases are in health care workers.

In Carbon County, cases increased by four to 346. Deaths remain at 28.

In Lehigh County, there are 43 new cases for a total of 4,667. Deaths remain at 334.

Luzerne County is reporting 3,130 cases, an increase of 23. Deaths remain at 183.

In Monroe there are 11 new cases, bringing the total to 1,551. There are 120 deaths.

In Northampton County, 24 new cases bring the total to 3,727. Deaths remain at 289.

In Schuylkill County, there are eight new cases. The total is 843, with 49 deaths.
