Lehighton State Police report assault, DUI

State police at Lehighton reported on several incidents:

• A Carbon County man is facing charges following an incident that occurred at 11:09 p.m. June 29.

Police said Charles Flemming, 43, and a 37-year-old woman of Maxine Drive in Towamensing Township, became involved in an argument because he accused the woman of cheating. During the argument Flemming punched the woman in the face two times.

He was charged with simple assault and harassment, troopers said.

• A Northampton County teenager is facing a driving under the influence charge following a traffic stop in Carbon County.

Police said a 19-year-old man from Walnutport, who they declined to identify, was stopped about 12:46 a.m. on July 4 along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, in Lehighton, for traffic violations. He showed signs of impairment consistent with being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was placed under arrest and taken into custody for DUI. He refused to submit to a blood test.

Charges will be filed, troopers added.

• Police reported investigating a criminal mischief incident at a Carbon County location.

Troopers said a resident of Preachers Camp Road in Towamensing Township, reported on June 18 at 1:31 p.m. criminal mischief occurred to her 2013 Subaru. The investigation is continuing.

Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident reported at 9:10 p.m. July 10.

It happened at a residence along Interchange Road in Polk Township.

Police said the victim, a 37-year-old man from Kresgeville, reported someone damaged a window at his residence with a metal ball bearing.
