State police report on Schuylkill incidents

State police at Frackville reported on the following incidents investigated by troopers at Schuylkill County locations:

• On June 29 at 2:31 a.m. troopers observed a suspicious vehicle parked at Ridge and Walnut streets in Rush Township. The vehicle was occupied by a juvenile male driver and two juvenile female back seat passengers. The front seat passenger, identified as Brett Sell, 20, of Tamaqua, had just left the vehicle and went into his residence to get cigarettes, troopers said. An odor of marijuana was coming from inside the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted. A small amount of marijuana and fireworks were located near the front passenger seat area.

Sell would not return to the scene. The remaining occupants of the vehicle advised troopers that the items belonged to Sell. Charges are pending against Sell.

• On June 25 about 3:25 p.m. troopers responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 100 block of Market Street in Ashland. As a result a 34-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were both cited for harassment. Troopers declined to identify the suspects.

• On July 7 about 5:12 p.m. troopers responded to 51 Water St., New Philadelphia, for a report of an attempted burglary. On scene it was determined that someone attempted to enter the residence on July 5, during the early morning hours, but failed to gain entry. The investigation is continuing.
