The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Carbon County Maintenance forces will perform base repair work on 209/East Catawissa Street between Route 93 and Route 903 beginning Thursday.

The project was supposed to start earlier in the week, but was postponed.

The road will be closed and detoured between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily, while traffic will be detoured on Route 902 and Hemlock Drive/Beaver Run Drive/Beaver Street.

The project is expected to be completed July 21.

This work will be done in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, and relevant training.
