Lehighton state police - DUI charges

State police at the Lehighton barracks report the following incidents:

• Police said a 55-year-old Pen Argyl man was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after police were called to a crash at 9:09 p.m. July 7.

It happened on Route 115 in Ross Township when the man was driving a 2003 Ford F-250. The details of the crash were not provided by police.

• Jesse Christopher Beidler of Lansford was charged with driving under the influence after a one-vehicle crash at 11 a.m. July 7 in the area of 60 Mill Road, Mahoning Township.

Police reported they made the arrest after they responded to a one-vehicle crash in which Beidler was the driver of the vehicle.

• Police said a traffic stop they made at 10:48 p.m. July 2 at the intersection of Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East and Forge and Allen streets in Lehighton resulted in the driver being arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police said the stop was made because the vehicle was bearing a reported stolen license plate. Upon further investigation, police said it was determined the man was under the influence. The operator also admitted to having the stolen license plate.

He was subsequently taken for a blood test, the results of which are pending forensic analysis.
