Carbon driver cited for crash

A Carbon County driver involved in a three-vehicle crash in Lehigh County, has been cited. State police at Bethlehem said the crash occurred at 5:31 p.m. July 2 along Route 22 in Bethlehem.

Troopers said Austin L. Greco, 29, of Easton, and James R. Irwin, 40, of Nazareth, were both westbound and began to slow down for traffic ahead of them. Austin E. Gladd, 27, of Nesquehoning, did not see the slowing vehicles ahead of him. He swerved to avoid a collision and hit the concrete divider with his 2008 Acura RL. After impact with the divider the Acura bounced back into the left lane and struck the driver’s side of Greco’s 2019 Subaru Forester. This caused the Acura to go forward and hit the front bumper of Irwin’s 2016 Lincoln Continental MKZ. The Acura came to final rest in the left lane while the other two vehicles came to rest on the shoulder of the road.

No one was injured. The Acura was towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Gladd for following too closely and driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
