Man overdoses, gives police false name, address

Brad Allen Fernsler, 37, of 1500 Second St., Easton, has been charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution and false identification to law enforcement authorities for an incident on June 13 at 12:49 a.m. at 223 Penn St.

On the date and time Tamaqua police were dispatched to the residence for a report of an overdose. As police arrived, so did an EMS unit from Tamaqua.

A man was on the second floor in a bathroom. A woman on scene could not identify the man, only to state he had been dropped off earlier and he was from Allentown.

The man had no identification on him. EMS gave the man, who was later ID as Fernsler, three doses of Narcan before he finally came around. He then gave police a name of John Clint and a birth date. No record was found of the name given. He then told police he lived in Virginia.

After checking again, no record was found. He was then taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale.

At the hospital he gave many false names, then the EMS personnel came up with his real name and that name was run and it was confirmed he was Brad Allen Fernsler. A check also revealed there were warrants issued to the state parole and Northampton County.

Later that same morning state parole officers arrived and took Fernsler into custody.
