A Monroe County man is facing charges stemming from an incident with a gun.

State police at Stroudsburg said on July 2 at 4:02 p.m. troopers responded to 476 Woodland Road, in Paradise Township, for a report of a man in a house with a rifle who was intoxicated.

Troopers found Frank Martens, 55, of Mount Pocono. He disobeyed orders of the troopers and reached for a personal weapon after being ordered to keep his hands above his head, with neighboring children nearby the residence.

Marten was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Snydersville.

He has since been released, according to records.

He is facing disorderly conduct and related charges.
