State Police are investigating the drowning of a 2-year-old child that occurred in Monroe County.

The incident reportedly occurred at a home in Ross Township Thursday afternoon.

State Police at Lehighton said in a statement that they are investigating the incident with the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office. The statement said “updated information will be made available as to not hinder the investigation.”

Monroe County Coroner Thomas Yanac was unavailable for comment on Friday.
