Tamaqua hosting fall sports physicals

The Tamaqua Area School District will be hosting drive through sports physicals in the middle school parking lot on Thursday, July 16 between 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

This is for fall sports athletes only. (if a student is in more than one sport, including the fall sport they should list all sports on the physical form). Physicals will again be offered before both the winter and spring sports seasons.

These physicals will be open to other schools also. Tamaqua students will get first priority for the first two to three days for registration. There will be 350 open spots.

There will be a link to register that athletes must sign up for in order to obtain the free physical. Times will be in 10-minute increments between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. There is expected to be 10 privacy tents and doctors on hand to do the physicals. If athletes do not preregister, they will not be able to obtain a physical. Expect the physical to take between seven to 10 minutes per student.

Upon arrival, the student must park in the lot and go to the first tent to be screened. A mask must be worn. Their temperature will be taken. Anyone who has been around someone with COVID-19 in the previous 14 days or has symptoms should not attend. Those that do not pass the COVID screening will be asked to leave.

The link to the physical form is: https://www.tamaqua.k12.pa.us/domain/9

All student-athletes should make sure the entire physical form packet is finished. If it is not, they may not be able to receive the physical.

If anyone cannot attend this date, there will be other physicals being offered at different locations throughout District 11 in the upcoming weeks.

FOR TAMAQUA ATHLETES ONLY

Pay to Participate prices will be:

• $30 for first sport

• Additional $20 for second sport

• Additional $10 for third sport

These prices are contingent on a donation toward the cost being received. If the donation is not received, each of the levels above would be increased by $10.

Tamaqua athletes are asked to bring their Pay to Participate money when they attend the physical on July 16.
