Trinity happenings

Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, is pleased to announce resuming Sunday worship, 9:30 a.m., in the parking lot situated behind the building. Attendees are requested to remain in their vehicles. The sound is broadcast over FM 87.9.

For those who choose to bring a lawn chair and sit on the lawn, ushers will provide assistance designated for social distancing. Please wear a face mask for your safety and for those around you. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Joshua Krenz assists.

Since there are limited parking spaces and lawn size, a reservation is required on a weekly basis by the end of business hours each Thursday. The phone number: 610-377-4303. Worship bulletins will be printed according to the number of reservations received, and distributed upon entering the parking lot. A basket to receive offerings is provided. A restroom in Luther Hall is accessible during the worship time; mask required upon entering the building.

Holy Communion will be available on the first and third Sundays each month in a safe manner. The bread wafer and communion container are pre-sealed as a safe way to celebrate the sacrament.

Please note that morning, evening/night prayer devotions, children’s Bible moments with Pastor Moore and youth group activities and devotions with Vicar Krenz will continue to be recorded by Pastor Moore or Vicar Krenz and posted on our Facebook pages.

Trinity, Lehighton’s in-person indoor church activities continue to be postponed for the current time. The Thrift Store shall remain closed until the staff can safely open the store under Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. Donations of household items are not being accepted at this time.

The food pantry continues to be open Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and the third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with a drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place.

Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pickup. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.
