Sacred Heart Church news

Sacred Heart Church, 243 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, continues to celebrate weekend Masses following all guidelines. This means attendance at each Mass is limited to 80 worshippers and you are asked to call the Rectory Office at: 610-826-2335 to reserve your seat.

Confessions continue to be heard by appointment only, and those in need of this sacrament are asked to call the Rectory Office at 610-826-2335 to schedule.

Bishop Schlert announced this past Monday to all diocesan priests in a Zoom Conference all Parishes will begin to move into some liturgical changes beginning June 29. All updates will be posted on our website. Please continue to check our website at: www.schpalmerton.org for future updates. Our Sunday 9:30 a.m. Mass will continue to be livestreamed for parishioners and friends who cannot join us.

This weekend all Masses will be offered for all living and deceased fathers of the parish. The Sunday liturgy will be from the 12th Sunday of Ordinary Time. Our Scripture readings emphasize that we have been saved by the grace of God in the person of Jesus Christ and the Lord will protect and defend us and lead us to life everlasting.

At our 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass we will present the 2020 CACPAC Good Samaritan Award to one of our graduating parishioners living within the Palmerton School District.

Thursday, we will have our quarterly pastoral council meeting at 6:30 p.m. by teleconference. Members having agenda items should contact Michelle Mullikin.

The Men of Sacred Heart will resume their bimonthly meetings June 27 in the Parish Center beginning at 9 a.m. All Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and diocesan guidelines will be followed.

Father Bill continues to ask for prayers that God, especially through the intercession of Father Ciszak, will give us a miracle to find a vaccine to end COVID-19 and restore spiritual, physical, emotional and financial healing to our global family.
