Hull selected to participate in All-State Chorus

The Tamaqua Area High School Vocal Music Department and its director John Buglio are proud to announce that David Hull, a junior, had been selected to participate in the 2020 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association All-State Chorus festival this past March.

The festival was slated to take place this past April at the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos as part of the PMEA State Music Conference. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference had to be canceled. The Pennsylvania All-State Chorus features over 200 students selected by audition from all regions of Pennsylvania. David is the first student from Tamaqua to be selected for this honor in over 30 years.

David has also received the Dr. John & Nell Forrest Vocal Scholarship award as Tamaqua High School’s top junior vocalist. As a recipient of this award, David will participate in a two-week all expenses paid vocal camp at Westminster Choir College on the campus of Ryder University in Princeton, New Jersey.

The camp will run the last two weeks in July. Students from all over the world converge on the campus of Westminster each year to participate in this vocal camp that features some of the best choral directors and educators in the country.

David Hull is the son of James Hull and Randa Ray of Tamaqua.
