Tamaqua bar cited for liquor violations

A Tamaqua business has been cited by the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.

Salute LLC, trading as the Hang Loose, 300 E. Broad St., was cited for a violation on Jan. 17. On that date the citation says the bar furnished alcoholic beverages to two visibly intoxicated patrons.

Another Schuylkill County licensee was also cited by the board.

The Veterans Home Association of Valley View, 125 W. Main St., Hegins Township, was cited for during the period of Feb. 9 through March 11, failed to return the club liquor license and wholesale liquor purchase permit cards to the board after the association’s license had not been operation for a period of 15 consecutive days.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
