A Slatington woman was charged with assault following an incident at 10:24 p.m. May 31.

State police at Fogelsville responded on that date and time to the 4800 block of Liberty Lane, Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, for a domestic incident. On scene it was determined that a 27-year-old man from Allentown suffered injuries, resulting in simple assault charges being filed against Desiree Ortiz, 24. She was taken into custody at the scene and charges filed, troopers said.
