Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Bowmanstown is continuing to hold drive-in worship services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Worshippers are asked to remain in their vehicles and tune to FM 104.3 to hear the service. You can also check it out on the church Facebook page to see the latest videos, inspirational songs, songs by individuals, and the Sounds of Faith Band. Aquashicola Fire Co.

The Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Co., Little Gap Road has a trailer at the company grounds to collect aluminum cans and crushed cans. All support is appreciated.

Yard sale

Blue Mountain Community Church, 25 Oak St., Palmerton will be holding its Annual Giant Yard Sale June 19 and 20. Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Social distancing and masks will be required. A food court will be available throughout the day. Donations can be dropped of at the church June 11-17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Palmerton Borough

The Zoning Board asks residents to contact the code officer to fully understand the regulations of installing a pool on your property before you purchase one. You will need a permit. The borough number is 610-826-2505.

The borough also requires that you maintain your property during the summer. The ordinance states that growth of grass or weeds in excess of 12 inches is a violation. A notice will be sent to residents who do not comply.

St. John’s Lutheran Church

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton, will hold a drive-in service on Sunday. Pastor Jody will lead the service through an amplification system in the parking lot so all can hear. Come and join the service.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, invites people to their Zoom worship service on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. Bible study is held on Zoom on Wednesdays at 11 a.m.

Jerusalem UCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, will again livestream its worship service on Facebook beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday. If you cannot view at this time, the recordings are available afterward to view on the website or on Facebook.

Sunday school for ages 5-12 is held is held on a Zoom format at 10 a.m. Email recordings are being sent to the nursery children.

Bible study video/audio conference is held Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. with Pastor Kathryn on a web platform. The group is studying the Book of Acts. Contact the pastor for the connection link.

Palmerton Community Festival

The next festival meeting will be held at 7 p.m. June 18 at the Palmerton pool picnic grove pavilion. Apologies for the change from the original date. This is a mandatory meeting and also an extremely important meeting. Please send only one representative if possible, at the most two. There are picnic tables at the pavilion but if you’re more comfortable bringing your own lawn chair to be socially distant it is understandable. Masks certainly are optional. You will be discussing what will occur for festival 2020.
