East Penn office opens

East Penn Township supervisors announced this week that the township office is now open.

One person may enter at a time with a mask.

There will be a “no contact” electronic recycling event for township residents from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 22 at the municipal building. Checks or exact change are requested.

In discussing COVID restrictions, Dennis I. Pearson said, “We are currently in yellow. We need to get to green. If we get to super green, we can do almost anything.”

Other business included approving an estimate from McCullions Air Conditioning, Heating and Electrical, Inc. for the community center oil tanks and approving bids from Heller’s for propane, and Suburban for heating oil, 93% octane gasoline, and ultralow sulfur diesel fuel.

The board unanimously voted to extend the property tax relief due date to Nov. 1. They also voted to extend the per capita tax so that both are due on Nov. 1.
