Carbon County library information

Changes to service: When the libraries can admit patrons, they may see long-term limits on how many people can be allowed in the library at one time, how much in-person help staff can provide to patrons, the hours and days buildings are open, as well as limited computer use for the public. All three libraries will be following the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the Office of Commonwealth Libraries.

Summer reading programs: Some programs will be held online and other activities may be available in a “take out” version. This includes this year’s Summer Reading Program, “Imagine Your Story.” Information will be available soon.

Due dates: Due dates have been extended for currently checked out items. However, you may return your items at any time. Please use the book-returns at the library buildings to return your library items.

Library cards: Library cards with an expiration date between January 2019 and June 2020 were automatically renewed and have a new expiration date of July 1. If you do not currently have a library card you can apply for one using the online library card application found on the libraries’websites.

Online sites: Patrons can continue to use the libraries’ websites to access e-books, audiobooks, magazines and databases. You can also find them on Facebook and other social media platforms. Call the library with special needs or questions.
