Trailer hauling cars crashes in W. Penn

A crash in West Penn Township will be proven very costly after a trailer hauling expensive high end cars broke from the pickup truck pulling it, sending the cars and the trailer over the guardrails and down a steep embankment.

The crash occurred just before noon Monday as the pickup was traveling north, descending the north face of the Blue Mountain just below the summit. The trailer disengaged from the truck mowing down several hundred feet of guardrails. The driver was not injured in the incident. West Penn Township fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. West Penn Police Chief Brian Johnson is investigating the incident.
