Employee charged with stealing tires from Schuylkill business

A Schuylkill County man has been charged with stealing from his employer.

State police at Frackville said on May 15 troopers received a call from CJ Tire of Schuylkill Haven, who was missing tires from their inventory and suspected thefts were occurring by an employee.

The company vehicle was being monitored by GPS and a representative of the company followed an employee as he was to be making his deliveries. The employee, Joseph Darker, 48, was followed to his residence on Broad Street in Saint Clair, where he unloaded two new tires into the garage area of his residence. Troopers were summoned to the scene.

An investigation revealed that Darker had taken six tires over a brief time to resell for profit. Charges were filed. Tires, with a total value of $390.98, were recovered.
