Three juveniles climb on roof of Palmerton school

State police are investigating why three juveniles were found on the roof of the Palmerton Area Junior High School on Monday.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Alan Lonoconus said Joe Faenza, the district’s director of maintenance, saw one of the juveniles climbing the side of the building. While he was talking to the individual, two others were spotted on the roof.

“We have no idea what they were doing up there,” Lonoconus said. “It’s unfortunate. It’s certainly something you don’t want to see happening.”

The district contacted the fire company and state police. Lonoconus said the three were brought down safely via a ladder.

“We appreciate the cooperation of the fire company and the state police,” he added. “Nobody was hurt and that is the most important thing.”

The district does intend to press trespassing charges against the three juveniles.
