Lehighton Area School District will be holding kindergarten registration over the course of the next few weeks, but assessment dates have yet to be determined.

The district asks parents/guardians to log on to the registration site where you originally preregistered your child, https://www.lehighton.org/domain/579, and schedule a new appointment for one of the following dates: May 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, or June 1 or 2.

Please note whether you make your appointment with Karen Shaffer or Kristin Simmons. The same registration process will take place at both entrances but the district must maintain social distance.

If your appointment is scheduled with Karen Shaffer, please enter on the Primary (K-2) side. If your appointment is scheduled with Kristin Simmons, please enter on the Intermediate (3-5) side.

On the date/time of your appointment, the parent/guardian (who must be legally allowed to sign the paperwork for the child) will proceed to the appropriate entrance. Do not enter the lobby if someone is already in there. You must wait outside and there are benches available. The doors will be marked enter/exit.

When you come in for your appointment, you will first review paperwork/sign documents with a secretary. Then you will review immunizations/health history with a nurse. The secretary and nurse will be in the office and you will be in the lobby, speaking through the window. Please do not bring your child with you.

Masks are required. Please bring your own pen. Hand sanitizer stations are available in the lobbies.

You must bring the following to the appointment: child’s birth certificate, child’s immunization record, two proofs of residency, custody/guardianship papers (if applicable), parent/guardian photo identification, pen, and mask.

Kindergarten assessments have not been rescheduled at this time. That information has yet to be determined.
