Nesquehoning residents are reminded that there are rules in place in the borough regarding outdoor burning.

The borough said that there is currently no burning ban in place, but urge residents to follow the ordinance.

According to the ordinance, fires in fire pits are permitted during any day of the week between Memorial Day and Labor Day between 6 and 11 p.m.

For the remainder of the year, fires in pits are only permitted on holidays, as well as Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 5 and 10 p.m.

Residents cannot burn leaves or anything under the prohibited items of the ordinance.
