Parish of Sacred Heart Palmerton

The Parish of Sacred Heart Palmerton continues to offer daily Mass although privately due to the coronavirus. Every Sunday at 10 a.m., the Sunday Liturgy and homily are being livestreamed via Sacred Heart’s Facebook page.

The church is open Monday through Friday from noon to 3 p.m. for private prayer.

Confessions are heard by appointment and can be arranged by calling the rectory at 610-826-2335. This Sunday is Good Shepherd Sunday, fourth Sunday of Easter, and has been designated as World Day of Prayer. The parish has sent a $500 contribution this week to Family Promise of Carbon County to assist in their efforts to place their guests in local motels, hotels, etc. since they cannot currently share a common residence due to the pandemic.

Also, the church is encouraging the parish family to pray through the Intercession of Father Walter Ciszek for his intercession as scientists and researchers search for a vaccine for the coronavirus. Ciszek’s cause is in Rome being considered for study and examination to be declared a Saint. For this to happen, two confirmed miracles are needed.

It if be God’s will, through his intercession, what a wonderful miracle it would be to find a cure for this global pandemic and restore health (physically, spiritually and socially) to our global homes. Intercession prayer can be found on the parish website at: www.shcpalmerton.org.
