Carbon man injured, charged with DUI after Rt. 534 crash

Thomas K. Milo, 43, of Albrightsville, was injured and charged after a one-vehicle crash at 10:40 a.m. April 3 on Route 534 in Penn Forest Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and cited for traffic violations.

Police said he sustained minor cuts and scratches on his hands and was transported by the Lehighton EMS unit to the St. Luke’s Lehighton campus for treatment.

Police said he was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala east on Route 534 in the area of Meckesville Road, and was traveling at a high rate of speed, when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road. The car went off the road, striking a guide rail on the south side, causing disabling damages to the entire front-end and passenger-side of the vehicle.
