Ross Twp. Supervisors review road work bids

Ross Township supervisors reviewed six bids for upcoming road work during the monthly meeting Monday evening.

They received four bids for work on Turkey Hill Road, Lois Court, Aspen Lane, Hill Court, Laurel Drive, Franklin Avenue and Robin’s Court.

“The bids for these roads include the scratch course, the wearing course and line painting with beads,” said Chairwoman Tina Drake.

She and Vice Chairman David Shay were among the four people inside the township building. Everyone else participated via phone. The building and outside facilities are closed to the public until further notice.

Drake and Shay read each company’s bid line by line and provided the total project costs. The bids were from Bracalente Construction Inc., the H&K Group, Hanson Aggregates and Bruce George Paving and Excavating.

Supervisors awarded this bid to Hanson Aggregates, for a proposed cost of $167,368.50. The other three bids were between $200,000 and $226,000.

The other two bids are for work on Blue Ridge Road, Meixsell Valley Road, Pennell Road and Anchorage Road. They will receive seal coating and line painting, Drake said.

The two bids were from Pocono Spray Patching Inc. and Asphalt Maintenance Solutions LLC.

Supervisors awarded the bid to Pocono Spray Patching Inc., whose bid was just under $110,000. The other bid was about $1,200 higher.

The township will use money from the liquid fuels fund for road repairs.
