St John’s Lutheran In The Heights reaches out

All services at St. John’s Lutheran Church In-The-Heights, 319 South Ave., Jim Thorpe, have been postponed due to the recent COVID 19 Pandemic.

However, the church services will still continue if you listen to station WLSH, Lansford - 1410AM on your radio at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. The church has been reaching out over the airwaves since February 1965.

Congregation Council President, Walt Schlenner states that you can still listen every Sunday on the radio to the weekly services and the inspirational messages delivered by the Rev. F. Peter Muhr.

With a small choir of 4-5 people, their organist and one lay reader, Muhr continues to deliver this much needed service and outreach to the community. St. John’s has been broadcasting on Station WLSH 1410AM for over 55 years. Recently, a conversion to all digital equipment was updated in the church.

In addition, the memorial prayer garden in the back of the church is still open for quiet prayer and reflection.

St. John’s parishioners continued to pray for everyone in this very difficult and uncertain time. Tune in on your radio on Friday, April 10, at 2 p.m. for the Good Friday Service, as well as Easter Sunday, April 12, at 10:30 a.m., and every Sunday thereafter. The May 3 Special Music Sunday Service is also canceled at this time.
