Hallman steps down at Northwestern

Northwestern’s Billy Hallman has decided to step down as the school’s head boys basketball coach.

Hallman led the Tigers to an 11-11 regular season record this past year and a berth in the District 11 Class 4A playoffs, where they lost a quarterfinal round contest to Bethlehem Catholic.

The Northwestern grad led his alma mater for six seasons and posted a 63-75 record. His teams reached the postseason the last three years.

Prior to his head coaching position, he also served as an assistant girls coach with the Tigers.

Hallman played parts of three seasons with Northwestern from 1991 to 1994. He averaged nearly five points a game his senior year and hit 22 three-pointers.

With his departure, the school is currently accepting applications for the position. Interested applicants should have prior high school or college coaching experience and must complete the application process online at https://www.nwlehighsd.org/Page/418. The deadline to apply is April 17 at 4 p.m.
