A look back: April 2, 2004

The Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company, Kresgeville, held an appreciation dinner for its fire company and auxiliary volunteers, with the highlight of the evening being the presentation of the “Outstanding Polk Township Fire Company Volunteer” award to Ken Hawk of Kresgeville.

Company president Bill Thompson said Hawk “was the best, the hardest working and most dependable guy this fire company has had for 35 years. He’s been 100 percent since the day I started here.”

Hawk was also one of four men recognized for 35 years of service to the company, the others being Ed Arnold, Clarence Hawk and Mitchell Kreger.
