State Police at Frackville report arrests

State police at Frackville reported on the following arrests made by troopers.

• On Jan. 2 troopers were called to the state correctional institution at Mahanoy, 301 Morea Road in Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County, for a report of two women found with drugs while visiting at the prison. On scene troopers were told by prison personnel that they found drugs in a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer occupied by Jessica Brown-Flint, 28, and Ashley Banks, 24, both of Philadelphia.

The two women were taken into custody and transported to the barracks were they were processed and charged with drug possession charges.

• Chirag Patel, 45, of Sheppton, has been charged with simple assault - causing bodily injury, for an incident on Jan. 4 at11:42 p.m. Troopers responded to a residence along West Pine and Centre streets in East Union Township, Schuylkill County. On scene a 43-year-old woman from Sheppton said she and Patel became involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical with Patel striking her with a closed fist in the left eye. He also shoved her to the floor.

• On March 4 at 6:25 p.m. troopers were dispatched to a residence along New Road in Lost Creek, West Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County, for a trespassing incident. Police determined that Michael Pritula, 36, of Mount Carmel, entered onto the property of a 27-year-old man without permission. Pritula appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, troopers said. He will be charged with criminal trespass.

• Troopers said Michael Brown, 38, of Minersville, is facing charges following incidents on March 6. At 2:33 p.m. troopers were dispatched to the High Ridge Park Road in Butler Township, for a report of a vehicle on fire. During the investigation it was learned the vehicle owner, Brown, had an active warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Pottsville. At the prison, while being processed, he was found in possession of a controlled substance. He will be charged with contraband, possession of a controlled substance.

• On March 8 at 1:02 a.m. troopers were dispatched to Sunbury Street in Cass Township for a report of a juvenile with possible alcohol poisoning. On scene troopers found a 16-year-old male from Minersville intoxicated. He was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East, Pottsville, for evaluation. He will be charged with underage drinking.
