The PIAA announced on Thursday that it is postponing the Class 2A Swimming and Diving Championships.

“In support of the recommendation of the CDC and Health Officials throughout the country, that large indoor sporting events should not continue as the country seeks to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the PIAA Class 2A Swimming and Diving Championships have been postponed. We will provide further information as it becomes available,” a statement read.

Marian’s Maddie Dando, Panther Valley’s Erika Zimmerman and Emily Newton and Palmerton’s Carson Allen were all set to compete in the event, which is held at Bucknell University in Lewisburg.

The Class 2A sessions were scheduled to begin Friday morning and continue through Saturday night.
