Kunkletown Thrift Store hosts annual prom dress sale

The Eldred Community Center will be hosting its third annual prom dress sale at the Kunkletown Thrift Store.

Hundreds of donated dresses will be featured. All prom dresses will be $10 each, with a limit of two dresses per person.

Men’s suits will also be available for $5 each.

Some wedding gowns and mother of the bride dresses are also featured.

A wide variety of shoes, jewelry, shawls and handbags will also be available. Additionally, customers will have a chance to win free prizes with their purchase.

“Everyone who buys a dress is going to walk away with a prize. Customers will draw an Easter egg at the counter, and they can win shoes, jewelry or a shopping certificate to our thrift store. We have all kinds of goodies to hand out,” said Shirley Krum, Eldred Community Center volunteer.

All proceeds from the prom sale will be used to upkeep and maintain the community center.

“It’s to maintain the building — it goes right back into the community. All proceeds keep us going so we can keep doing good stuff,” Krum said.

The thrift store is open to the public for normal hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Donated goods are accepted until 2 p.m.

The prom sale will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at location 490 Kunkletown Road, Kunkletown.
