Palmerton wins back-to-back championships

Palmerton recently won its second straight Lehigh Valley Boys Basketball League championship. The Bombers captured the Knee-Hi (8th grade) championship this season, playing in the Lane Division, which is comprised of the big schools in the league.

Palmerton earned the No. 1 seed for the postseason and then rolled to three straight wins, defeating Hokey, 59-48 in the title game. The Bombers finished the season with a 14-3 record.

The championship follows on the heels of the Cadet (7th grade) title that Palmerton won least season while competing in the Horn Division, which is comprised of the small schools in the league. That championship earned the Bombers the promotion to the Lane Division this season.

Team members were, from left, assistant coach Dylan Knause, Jacob Grammes, Aiden Leister, Trace Stahler, Matt Machalik, Zach Anthony, Bryce Marino, Brayden Hosier, Dominick Bojko, Jared Reinhard, Emilio Gonzalez, Mason Grate and head coach Brian Stevko.
