Lansford man charged in assault; bail set at $1M

A Lansford man was arraigned this morning for his part in an assault and stabbing in the borough.

Richard Rodweller, pictured in 2017, is wanted on assault charges by Lansford Police Department.

44-year-old Richard Rodweller is charged with aggravated assault and other charges related to the Feb. 10 incident which took place on the 400 block of West Abbott Street. Bail was set as $1 million.

Rodweller’s son Eric, 15, has already been charged as an adult for allegedly stabbing a man during the attack.

According to court documents, Richard Rodweller punched the man in the face repeatedly, and held him down while Eric Rodweller stabbed him and others punched and kicked him.

The attack allegedly took place immediately following a drug robbery. 18-year-old Rene Figueroa allegedly took a bag of marijuana from Richard Rodweller without paying and ran away.

The stabbing victim, who went to the scene with Figueroa, said he was attacked after Figueroa ran away.

The victim was stabbed twice in the chest and once in the foot, according to police. He is recovering from his injuries.

Figueroa has been charged with theft in the case.

Richard Rodweller’s wife, Casey, also faces drug charges for allegedly setting up the deal.
