NCC to Hold Book Signing for Author Heidi Butler

Northampton Community College will hold a book signing by Heidi Bright Butler, author of the new children’s book “Audrey Evans: Not Your Ordinary Doctor,” on March 3, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at the bookstore in NCC’s College Center, 3835 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem Township.

Evans, a pediatric oncologist, is called the “Mother of Neuroblastoma” because of advances, research, and work that she has done for this type of cancer, reducing mortality by 50%.

Born in England, she pursued her American career at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

“Audrey Evans: Not Your Ordinary Doctor” is a chapter book recommended for children in grades 4-6, but can also be enjoyed as a read-aloud by children, grades 1-3, and by adults, too.

It portrays Evans’ love of telling funny stories, an adventure with a runaway horse, and her concern for people all over the world.

Butler is the award-winning author of magazine, newspaper and website articles.

A graduate of Cedar Crest College, she is a retired director of public information at NCC.

“My favorite topic is interesting people, and Audrey is one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met,” she says.
