Police: Woman hit man with drill

A woman was jailed on Sunday on an assault charge.

State police at Lehighton said troopers were dispatched to a residence along Hillside Place, Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, at 7:14 p.m. for a report of a physical altercation.

The victim, a 42-year-old man from Exton, Chester County, told troopers he and Annie Turner, 41, of Kunkletown, engaged in an argument. The victim said Turner then grabbed an electric drill and struck him once in his face and once on top of his head.

Turner was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment.

She was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning after failing to post bail. She has since posted bail and has been released from custody.
