State police at Lehighton reported investigating an incident that occurred at 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 along Route 534 in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Darlene M. Catena, 42, of Lehighton, was driving a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan eastbound nearing the intersection with Dotters Corner Road, when a piece of metal was lying on the road.

Catena did not see it and her vehicle ran over it, with the metal lodging in the undercarriage, disabling the vehicle.

Damages to the undercarriage included causing fuel to leak from the vehicle.

No one was injured and the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
