Pediatric cancer benefit

A pediatric cancer patient is trying to raise awareness about an important fundraiser happening in Bethlehem this weekend that will help many local families who have children battling cancer.

The Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce’s 31st annual Snow Ball is this weekend and 9-year-old Isabella Moina wants to urge people to support the cause. The ball, which will be held beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Wind Creek Event Center, benefits the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley

Isabella learned she had cancer over the summer. She quickly started chemo and scheduled surgery, but the difficult battle turned her family’s life upside down.

The family, from Bethlehem, spends more time in the hospital than at home.

The foundation has provided gift cards for gas and groceries as well as in-hospital emotional support.

Tickets are still available for the formal gala and silent auction, but the deadline to purchase tickets is Wednesday.
