Healthy Steps program

A free “Healthy Steps for Older Adults” fall-prevention workshop will be offered at the Tamaqua YMCA, 1201 E. Broad St., from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 17, 19 and 21. People should preregister before Feb. 12 by calling 570-624-3017.

Healthy Steps for Older Adults is an evidence-based program for people ages 50 and older to help reduce the risk of falls. Taught by a certified instructor, the program consists of three two-hour sessions and will measure fall risk through a variety of screenings.
