A Carbon County driver was involved in a rear-end type crash at 5:10 p.m. Jan. 21, along Interstate 78 in South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Diane Motel, 49, of Jim Thorpe, and Deborah L. Fromm, 59, of Fleetwood, Berks County, were both westbound in the middle lane. Troopers said Fromm failed to follow at a safe speed and could not apply the brakes in time. As a result the front of Fromm’s 2014 Subaru Outback hit the rear of Motel’s 2019 Toyota Prius.

Motel sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention.

Troopers cited Fromm for following too closely.
