January 31, 1979 — Suzy Jones pours in 30 points to lead Slatington to a 69-65 Centennial League victory over East Stroudsburg and also become the school’s all-time leading girls scorer. Jones nets 14 of her points in the opening quarter as the Bulldogs race to a 26-10 advantage. In the second half, Jones passes Kim Neff’s career record of 934 points (and will later in the season eclipse the 1,000-point mark). Leeann Penberth contributes 12 points to the win, while Becky Moyer and Dawn Geiger each add eight. Slatington, coached by Dick Jones, also receives nine rebounds from Bernie Follweiler.
