State troopers have removed a female driver from the scene of a crash in Lower Towamensing Township. The crash occurred as the young woman was driving a van north on Covered Bridge Road when she drove into a steel column protecting the structure of the covered bridge. The driver was given several field sobriety tests at the scene. The Lower Towamensing fire company of Aquashicola responded to the scene.
