The Lafayette Street hill in the North Ward section of Tamaqua will be closed on Friday, as well as Jan. 27-31 for utility work. The hill will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic on those days between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. The hill will be open to traffic after 5 p.m. each day.

Drivers and pedestrians traveling through this area must take an alternate route. The street will be reopened as soon as possible after the work is completed. This schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
