State police at Schuylkill Haven reported an elderly couple were found dead in their home on Tuesday.

Troopers went to the 100 block of North State Road, in Branchdale, Branch Township, at 1:12 p.m. for a welfare check. Troopers entered the home and found the man deceased on the living room floor and the woman deceased in an upstairs bedroom. Both were age 78. Troopers did not identify them.

Troopers said there were no signs of a struggle or anything suspicious. Troopers suspect that the couple died of natural causes. Autopsies are pending. The investigation is continuing.
