State police at Frackville report on arrests

State police at Frackville reported on arrests made by troopers.

• Troopers said at 10:09 a.m. Dec. 18, 2019, they responded to a residence along Alliance Street in New Philadelphia borough for a reported burglary. Troopers from the Schuylkill Haven barracks also responded.

On scene troopers found Sarah Werner, 33, of Douglassville, Berks County, inside the residence and she did not belong there. She showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Werner was taken into custody and charged with burglary and related counts. She was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post bail. She remains in the county prison.

• At 4:08 p.m. Monday,troopers were dispatched to a residence along Broad Street in New Castle Township for a report of active protection from abuse violation. On scene Heath Austin Dougherty, 32, of Saint Clair, was placed in custody for violating a PFA order. The order states Dougherty was evicted from the residence and was to have no contact with the 36-year-old woman who lives there. Dougherty entered the residence and confronted the victim.

He was arraigned before District Judge James Ferrier, of Orwigsburg, on a charge of indirect criminal contempt for violating the PFA order. He was unable to post bail and was committed to the county prison.
