Yudichak receives committee assignments

State Sen. John Yudichak, I-Luzerne/Carbon, was appointed to the following committees: Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, Senate Finance Committee, Senate Labor and Industry Committee and Senate Rules and Executive Nominations.

“My new Senate committee assignments reflect the importance Sen. Scarnati and Sen. Corman have placed on having the voices of northeastern Pennsylvania heard in the Pennsylvania State Senate,” Yudichak said.

“I have served on the Environmental Resources and Energy Committee my entire career in the state Legislature, and with organizations like the Earth Conservancy and the North Branch Land Trust, we have been able to be good stewards of the environment while also investing in responsible economic development that has created thousands of new jobs.

“I am particularly grateful to be placed on the Senate Rules and Executive Nominations Committee that plays a critical role in all legislative matters that come before the Senate. The Senate Rules and Executive Nominations Committee is an important vantage point to ensure the people of northeastern Pennsylvania will have a seat at the table where key decisions are being made that impact all Pennsylvanians.

“As a son of a United Mine Worker and a member of AFSCME, I am pleased to return to the Labor and Industry Committee to fight for fair wages, safe working conditions, and an opportunity economy that rewards businesses that invest in working families.”
